Calderbraes Golf Course

Every hole at Calderbraes is unique and has it’s own set of individual challenges and charms, which serve to reward or punish even the most accomplished of golfers.

Two holes might epitomise the true nature of Calderbraes; the demanding 4th hole, only 434 yards but uphill all the way with out of bounds on both sides of the green. The par three 7th hole played from high up on the hill takes you 228 yards down to the postage stamp green nestling in the bend of the North Calder Water & provides many a 19th hole talking point. The manicured greens are the envy of many visiting players who rave about the speed, contours & trueness.

"Situated to the east of the city of Glasgow and next to the zoo this is a hilly woodland course that is much tougher than its first seems. For instance, there are tight fairways to contend with and almost every hole features out-of-bounds. To score well, therefore, you must be routinely straight off the tee and plan your approaches shots carefully. No hit and hope on this course. The par four fourth is a demanding hole with a long second shot to a green that's high up with out-of-bounds to the left and right. A great hole on a great nine-hole course."
